Club Metro:
Inside The Masonic Center in Pleasanton. In 1872 a Masonic Lodge was chartered in Pleasanton. A few years later, it moved to Livermore where it continues today as Mosaic Masonic Lodge Number 218. However, with Pleasanton's growth came an increasing number of Masons who desired not to take the long horse back ride to Livermore. John W. Kottinger, one of the founders and the first Justice of Peace of Pleasanton, was also a mason and was the driving force in getting yet another Masonic Lodge chartered in Pleasanton by the name of Alisal Lodge Number 321, F. & A. M. In 2000, the Lodge changed it's name to Pleasanton Lodge, which is now over 100 years old and in 1994, we celebrated a joint Centennial with the City of Pleasanton. To commemorate that awesome event, Warren J. Blomseth, Grand Master of Masons in California, dedicated a Masonic Cornerstone. That symbolic stone can be viewed at the East side of the City's Centennial Art Project in the Civic Park on Main Street (across the street from the Pleasanton City Hall).
